Gratitude. That high-vibe state of appreciation for someone or something.

You hear about it all the time, but are you actually understanding it, living it, practicing it?

Consistent life-changing gratitude isn’t something that just happens to you.

Sure, you might have spontaneous moments of gratitude, such as when you receive an unexpected gift or act of service, or when someone reaches out a helping hand when you most need it.

A gratitude practice is an intentional life-style change that provides you peace, reduces stress and allows you to more easily create the life you want.

Here are three easy steps to take to get you started with a simple yet powerful gratitude practice.

1- Keep a journal.

Write or type 3-5 things every day that you are grateful for, big and small.

Be specific and detailed. You can list more but aim for at least 3-5 things that you are currently grateful for.

Take it a step further and list at least one additional thing that you desire, but be grateful for it now as though you already have it or it has already happened.

2-Meditate daily.

In a quiet place with little to no distractions, spend 10-20 minutes thinking about what you wrote in your journal. Notice how it feels in your body when you feel gratitude and appreciation for those things.

Take deep breathes, relax, and imagine you just received what you’re grateful for, but for the very first time. How does that feel?

Imagine the thing you desire (ie health, abundance, love, peace, a job) and take note of how you already have that thing in your life, and appreciate it. Then imagine how it would feel to have that thing completely manifested, and feel gratitude in your body for having it right then and there!

3-Establish a routine.

Consistency is key here. Find a time of day, ideally first thing in the morning and perhaps just before bed, but at least once a day at a time that you can stick to easily.

This is a practice, which means it’s ever evolving and fluctuating with your journey. The idea is to consistently get your thoughts/body/energy field into a high vibe state that feels good, grateful and joyful. This is where the magic happens!

Be open to seeing the positive effects not just in how you feel while you do this, but also throughout each day.  As you practice gratitude consistently you will absolutely reap incredible benefits.
