Self-love is an action,
not just an idea.

I believe a daily self-love practice can transform your life.

Let me show you how.

Hello, beautiful.

I’m Jessica.

I’m a life coach, Pause-certified trauma-informed breathwork facilitator, registered nurse,  model, creative artist, dog mom and grief thriver.

I believe self love is the key to a

happy and fulfilling life.

SELF LOVE IS A JOURNEY. LET ME SHARE MINE WITH YOU.

When I was younger, I was an overachiever who always excelled in school. I had many friends, I played sports, and I often wore a smile on my face. From the outside, it looked like I had a pretty great life!

But secretly, I spent years subconsciously hating myself and feeling like I wasn’t enough. I felt insecure about everything, always comparing myself to others and feeling like I came up short. I was defensive and critical of myself and others.

I thought achieving my goals was the key to “earning” love—and earning my own approval. So despite my challenges, I managed to put myself through nursing school and achieved my dream of becoming a trauma nurse at Duke Hospital.

But something was still missing. I didn’t like living in my own skin most of the time. I struggled with depression, anxiety, body image issues, and codependency. I had no boundaries and no real fulfillment in life.

Despite all of my achievements,

I still didn’t love myself

Something had to change. The first 10 years of my journey towards self-love involved countless hours of therapy. I also began consuming content that taught me how to have a loving relationship with myself.

I learned about the effects of childhood trauma and conditioning. I began to realize that self-love is more than a concept, more than just a “feel good” state. Self-love is a state of appreciation for ourselves that grows from taking actions that support our wellbeing. It was here that I began to see the light of what was possible in my life. Then the training wheels came off, and the finite reality of this life hit me like a ton of bricks in my late 20’s.

My mother Wendy was the brightest light in my life, the only source of unconditional love I’d ever experienced from another person. Losing her at the tender age of 54 after a grueling 2-year battle with brain cancer made me see the world completely differently. Self-love was no longer a luxury, but rather a necessity for surviving the greatest loss I’ve ever known. Her passing gave me one of the biggest gifts of my life—the realization that life is a short and precious gift, and we are meant to live it with as much joy and passion as possible. It also taught me…

In order to live an incredible life, we must thrive, which is much different than simply surviving.

You can thrive, give generously & spread love to the world…self-love is the key

People in our lives come and go, but from your first breath to your very last and beyond, your relationship with yourself (and your higher power) is constant. Life brings us waves of joy and pain, and self-love is like your surfboard. Without it, life can feel crushing, but with it, you can actually ride the waves and experience positives that make the wipeouts worth it.

Trying to just keep your head above water is exhausting—that’s mere survival. Learning to surf the waves of life is learning to thrive.

And if I can do it, you can do it too.

And no, you don’t have to have lost someone or experienced a lot of trauma to feel like you aren’t living your fullest positive potential in life.

Now I am thriving because of self-love! For me this looks like bravely pursuing my passions, setting healthy boundaries, improving my body image and accepting my shortcomings. I recognize and accept love from the important people in my life more easily. I laugh, sing, dance and smile more often. I feel more joy, peace, hope and fulfillment than I’ve ever felt before. I feel supported from within and intentionally maintain my external support system. And by practicing self-love, I can give love more fully and positively impact those around me on a regular basis. I want the same for you.

And YES I invested in coaching as part of my self love journey in addition to the therapeutic work I was doing. Coaching gets you to the next level faster than you can alone. I still have a coach! It’s the best decision and investment I’ve ever made for myself.  Coaching helps you discover and reach new heights of self awareness and gives you the accountability, consistency and support you need to transform your life and become your authentic self.

You were meant to live a life full of love, starting with the love you give yourself.
